Hi Miguel! Please tell us about yourself.
I am a 20 year old college student, currently in my 3rd year studying Business Management.
Why Business Management?
I decided to study business because the world revolves around business, no matter what passion anyone has. I quickly realized I had some management skills and decided to exploit them.
Smart! What other things do you do asides your school works?
I am involved with SAGE, an entrepreneurial platform for teenagers. This plays a major role for me because I can apply my management skills while helping others achieve their self success.
OK. What are you passionate about and why are you passionate about these things?
SAGE. By helping teenagers find their passion and teaching them to capitalize on it, they can be better members of their community and then spread that teaching process. Changing the world one person at a time.
As a SAGE mentor, how do you help these teenagers?
I help students find their passion that can be capitalized. This way they are personally invested in the project and have the drive to maximize its potential. I then help them understand the basics of business and how to self sustain their businesses.
You’ve talked about changing the world. If you had the power to change one thing in the world, what will that be?
The level of education everyone has. If we could all rationalize effectively, we could solve more than half of all our problems.
No doubt, you’re a busy person. How have you been able to combine your school work with other activities?
Like I mentioned earlier, I apply management skills in SAGE and by networking in SAGE, I get feedback on how to refine my skills.
As a SAGE mentor, what’s your advice to young people out there still trying to find their purpose?
Don’t search for a purpose, search for a passion. The purpose will show itself when the time is right. It is the journey that shapes the person, not the perceived goal.
Thank you so much, Miguel! It’s amazing meeting such a young fellow like you.
