Just Do It
For some reason I believe that Nigeria can be better than our dreams. Maybe I’m young and naïve or I’m just idealistic but I believe we can get things right in this country not by trading blames or philosophizing but by taking action.
I’m Nwokoma Chimgozirim and I hope to make you resist the status quo one article at a time.

Suicide Can’t be an Option
Suicide can’t be an option. Suicide is far from the escape lane to the blissful plane. Let’s encourage people. Let’s motivate our society to re-innovate the ways of solving our problems. Our problems must not mull us into the mud.

The Youth, Africa’s Problem
Africa can’t be Africa if the effectiveness of the youth can’t be seen! Let’s forget about Africa progressing if the youth are not willing to change for the better!
Take Africa to be a CAR, the youth is the ENGINE!
Take Africa to be a COMPUTER, the youth is the CPU! But hold on…
The better the engine, the more durable the car!
The better the CPU, the better the performance!
The youth, the most energetic with the most developed minds! That’s why the youth is AFRICA’S engine.
But the YOUTH have still remained AFRICA’S PROBLEM.
PEACE!!!

Love on Time!
It is quite sad that we do not know what we have until we lose it. It is funny how a man suffers all his life with no help from family or friends. But his burial is a pricey ceremony of friends and enemies, giving a pep talk of his life on earth. What good is it now? I observe that the best deeds of a man are recited at his burial ceremony. Also, that much love is shown to a corpse or a man on his deathbed.
Tell me, what harm can this do? What harm can love do?

Motionless Emotion
Our minds are the most significant instruments given to us to launch ourselves to an everlasting happiness; everything we do or become is a reflection of the way we employ our minds and brains. How you look at the many problems that come your way, how you solve them, how you achieve your biggest dreams, whether you achieve them or not; whether you even set yourself any goals at all is a pure reflection of the way you use your mind, and the only way given man to use his mind out of problems is by THINKING.
Life is one continuous journey of dealing with challenges; we move from solving one problem after another and the primary way we solve problems is by thinking through problems.
In fact, people shun or mock characters who always carry their problems on their lips; rather, they’re attracted to people who give the impression that all’s well, even if it isn’t.
Are you still thinking? Go read the rest of this post and share what you think.

Forgotten (Episode 2)
Thirty minutes into the prayer, just as we were about to round up with the “litany of our Blessed virgin Mary” prayer, we heard a sound that had stopped us short. It came from inside mama’s room so we all stopped to listen. “Jonah!
“Jonah! Hannah?, ina ku ke? Sarah?” it was mama and she was awake.

The Problem of the Day and the Sea of Bribery and Corruption
For it was also said “there’s enough for everyone’s need but not for everyone’s greed”, the act of greediness in our society has helped in promoting bribery and corruption. Not only has it promoted bribery and corruption, it has also been the reason for the failure of many talented young Africans! When I say the failure of many young Africans, I mean not to say it’s the fault of theirs, no! But it is as a result of their supposed positions (in education or employment opportunities) being given to others.
It’s a pity! It’s devastating to see the Careers of these young talented Africans come to a halt because they refused to indulge in bribery and corruption. In fact, it’s heart attacking!
Let’s join hands together to bring bribery and corruption to an end in order to solve the problem of the day.
Arise Africa, arise Ghana.
PEACE!

The Night I’ll Never Forget
I prepared my bag and waited for them so we could leave together as time wasn’t on our side any longer. They had gone into the bathroom together to save time and had kept giggling to themselves all that time. Useless girls, I said to myself wondering what could have been so funny in there.

Diary of a Lagos Dreamer (Part One)
Lagos 10:00am I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed. We hold this truth, that all men are created equal. Chibuike turned the article face down. She did not understand the reason she spent most of her leisure hours reading Marthin Luther King’s speech, maybe it made her feel like she had a dream too. Every single read made her read more, a miserable attempt to search for something, anything, that could speak to her, only her. She stared at the book making a move to pick it up. The article, in a way left on the inside of her a confused desire, an intense longing to take from life more than it had given to her. Chibuike always wanted a great life, recognition and all. She even felt irritated when she, at 17, found her mates at…
