Dear self,
It’s okay to make mistakes. It’s okay to live a life you want and it’s ok to feel good about yourself.
Dear self, you don’t have to be perfect, you don’t have to seek validation from others and you don’t need to fit in to feel important. You just need to be you.
Dear self, you have forgiven everyone who has hurt you, betrayed you and fooled you. You have hugged those who stabbed you in the back and eaten with those who forsook you, it is time to forgive yourself. It is time to stop beating yourself up. It is time to stop hating yourself.
Dear self, it’s okay if you haven’t figured it out yet. The pieces will fall in place. You have to stop comparing yourself to others. You have to only focus on being a better you because you are the only you the world has got.
Dear beautiful self, you are so beautiful, you are smart, you are fearless, you are unstoppable. Don’t let the world have you. Don’t let the storm overshadow you. Don’t lose your voice. Don’t follow the crowd. Be your very own definition of beautiful, of smart, of courageous. Don’t let the standards and validations of this world change You. Don’t lose yourself.
But most importantly, remember you need to grow, you need to learn, you need to decide for yourself, you need to shine, you need to love, you need to live. Don’t let anyone hold you down. You have the choice to be whoever you are. Don’t choose defeat. Don’t choose to surrender. Don’t choose to live like everyone else. Don’t choose to be mediocre.
Choose to love, to live, to explore, to make mistakes, to fall and to stand.
Dear self the world doesn’t owe you anything. But you owe it to yourself to make the best out of it. Not for anyone but for you.
IT’S NOT CALLED SELFISH… IT’S CALLED SELFULL
